I have just bought an ac window unit the kenmore 70051 model 253 70051010.
No drip window ac.
It catches all the condensation that forms inside of the unit.
If there s no moisture in the air then there s nothing to condense out of the air.
These units are also called no drip units because the water does not drip from the rear of the unit.
If an air conditioner is not dripping it may not properly be doing its job of dehumidifying the room.
Unscrew or pull to unclip the base pan sometimes called a drip tray from the bottom of the unit.
They are drip free meaning that they use water only to cool their engines.
If your unit does not have an evaporator drain pan proceed to step 4.
There are two situations where an air conditioner would not generate condensate.
While you need to either manually empty an outside container of collected water or empty the unit s water collection tray with regular units an air conditioner with self evaporating technology reduces or eliminates this need.
Some of the water is used to cool heating coils in the machine but most will drip out of the unit.
Alternatively replace the tray with a new one.
If a c is leaking water from locations other than the back of the unit you may have another type of problem.
I would like to understand why there isn t any drainage hole on this unit.

Unplug the window ac unit.
You are going to check a few things to be sure the ac unit is installed properly and there is no water drainage block present.
Most newer air conditioners will have a pan that you can pull out of the unit and empty which is called the evaporator drain pan.
Check and be sure the ac is tightly sealed in the window.
